ADHD management
ADHD is a chronic symptom, which can be managed, not cured. Yet a lot can be done to resolve the symptoms of the disorder. Through effective management, some of the side effects that often occur due to untreated ADHD may be avoided. In most cases, ADHD management will be a life-long journey.
The recommended multi-modal treatment approach consists of four core interventions:
1. Patient, parent, and teacher education about the disorder;
2. Medication treatment;
3. Behavioral therapy; combined with
4. Various environmental supports, such as brain training.
